TESTED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOMEBUILDERS (NAHB) FOR THE SOCIETY OF THE PLASTICS INDUSTRY, RACK AND SHEAR TESTING COMPARED TO TO STANDARD 2X4 BATT INSULATION CONSTRUCTION, NETTED AN IMPROVED TOTAL BUILT WALL STRENGTH OF 85% FOR WALLS INSULATED WITH CLOSED CELL SPRAY POLYURETHANE FOAM.  IMPERVIOUS TO MOISTURE AND EXTERIOR AIR TRANSFER, ELIMINATING THE NEED FOR REDUNDANT MOISTURE BARRIERS (CONSULT LOCAL CODES), REDUCING BUILDER COST.

WITH THE ELIMINATION IF AIR LEAKAGE AND IMPROVED R-VALUES, TYPICALLY 30% TO 40% REDUCTIONS IN HEATING AND COOLING COSTS ARE REALIZED AND ALLOW FOR THE ENGINEERED DOWN SIZING OF THE HVAC SYSTEM, REDUCING BUILDER COSTS.

THE SUPERIOR INSULATING AND SEALING CHARACTERISTICS OF SPRAY POLYURETHANE FOAM INSULATION (CLOSED CELL) ARE PROVEN TO SEAL THE BUILDING ENVELOPE.  IT IS RECOMMENDED THE BUILDER HAVE THE HOME RATED BY A CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL ENERGY SERVICES NETWORK (RESNET) AND A HOME ENERGY RATING (HERS) INSPECTOR.  THE FAVORABLE RESULTS WILL QUALIFY THE DWELLING AND THE BUILDER FOR AN ENERGY EFFICIENT HOME TAX CREDIT ( IRS Form 8908).

THE "HERS" ANALYSIS RATING IS A RECOGNIZED TOOL IN THE MORTGAGE INDUSTRY.  THE RATING WILL QUALIFY THE HOME BUYER FOR AN "ENERGY EFFICIENT MORTGAGE" WHERE THE PROJECTED ENERGY COST SAVINGS ARE CONSIDERED INCOME QUALIFYING FOR THE MORTGAGE.

SPRAY FOAM INSULATION IS MOISTURE TOLERANT AND WILL NOT SAG, ROT OR DEGRADE.  FLOOD RESISTANT SPF CAN WITHSTAND DIRECT CONTACT WITH FLOOD WATERS FOR 72 HOURS.  SHOULD A WETTING EVENT OCCUR, THE FOAM'S CLOSED CELL STRUCTURE, UNLIKE BATT INSULATION, WILL PREVENT WATER FROM MIGRATING THROUGH THE INSULATION.

FEMA RECOGNIZED AS AN INSULATING MEDIUM EXCEEDING MINIMUM BUILDING REQUIREMENTS IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS ( REFERENCE FEMA TECHNICAL FACT SHEET Number 8).

AS AN EFFECTIVE AIR BARRIER SYSTEM, SPRAY POLYURETHANE FOAM INSULATION IMPROVES INDOOR AIR QUALITY, REDUCES ENERGY COSTS, IS AN EXCELLENT SOUND BARRIER, ELIMINATES THE MIGRATION OF EXTERIOR MOISTURE (A SOURCE OF MOLD GROWTH POTENTIAL) AND IMPROVES STRUCTURAL STRENGTH AGAINST HIGH WINDS (REFERENCE NAHB STUDIES).
